She transitioned into her role as CIO of Saltchuk Aviation in 2021. “For me the new role, is a dream I’ve had for years to make it to the top of the game in IT. Jason Lingg began his Saltchuk career working for NorthStar Energy—then known as NorthStar Utilities Group. Hired as the Director of Information Technology in November of 2012, he worked out of a small office in downtown Ballard. His current role is Director of Infrastructure and Operations at Saltchuk. “I saw it as an opportunity to influence the direction of IT across a bigger range of Saltchuk companies. “

John Marcantonio

Pride in the Work We Do

John Marcantonio completed two tours of duty, supporting the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, before joining Saltchuk’s former Marine Resources Group as an Operations Specialist on May 8, 2006. In his current role as Vice President of Marine Operations for TOTE Services, he oversees marine operations supporting TOTE’s Puerto Rican trade, including the world’s first LNG-powered containerships. “I’m also responsible for business development in our clean energy sectors, which includes LNG Services and Offshore Wind support,” Marcantonio said. “I’m proud to be part of a company committed to innovation and environmental sustainability.”

Jenny Wright started her Saltchuk journey at Saltchuk Marine as an Accounting Manager and has been with the company for over 9 years, now serving as ERP Implementation Specialist at Northstar Energy. “Joining the Saltchuk family has given me the opportunity to continue learning and growing. An Opportunity to Advance and Lead

Dave Karp first became familiar with Saltchuk as a member of the TOTE Anchorage Community Advisory Board in 2000. He joined the company six years later as the Chief Operating Officer of Northern Air Cargo when Saltchuk purchased NAC from the Sholten family. Karp currently serves as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Alaska. “My predecessor in the role retired, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to focus my activities on Alaska after 12 years of being based here but spending a lot of time traveling to Hawaii and Florida, growing the airline. I was ready for a change and being able to advance while still working for Saltchuk was a perfect fit for me.”

Henry Palmer joined Foss Maritime in 2014 as Port Captain. He was promoted to California General Manager before taking an opportunity to join NorthStar Energy as President, Delta Western, Inlet Energy, Alaska Petroleum Distributing. "Speaking specifically of career progression, I believe growing internally generally provides a more cohesive and consistent trajectory. As tenure builds our strengths and achievements become known. Jason Clinton began his Saltchuk career in 2019 as a contractor at Foss Maritime (now Saltchuk Marine), advancing into roles in project management, indirect tax, and FP&A before becoming Senior Manager, Accounting at Saltchuk Corporate Home. “Being able to develop relationships within operations while gaining an understanding and appreciation for what it takes to operate this company was a huge benefit to me. It means a lot when leadership knows your name and appreciates your contribution, no matter where you work.”

Ivette Rivera joined TOTE Maritime in 2010 as a Customer Service Representative. In 2013, she left TOTE for sister company Shoreside Logistics and spent the next nine years establishing and leading the customer service team there. By the end of 2022, a new opportunity had crossed her desk at TOTE Services! “I am fully committed to this company. An Opportunity to Learn and Grow

Casey Laufmann joined the Saltchuk family in 2015 as an entry-level finance analyst, his first full-time job after graduating college with a finance degree. Through mentorship and networking with various people at Saltchuk’s Corporate Home, Laufmann was invited to join NorthStar Energy in early 2018, again as a financial analyst reporting to the CFO. He’s now Director of Pricing Analytics, a data-heavy role focused on growth, strategy, and commercial relationships for all NorthStar operating companies. “I was attracted to NorthStar Energy so I could learn all about the energy industry—the science, customer-use cases, and markets,” Laufmann explained. “I’m fortunate to operate right in the middle of it all too. Domestic policy and global news have an impact on my day-to-day. It’s a thrilling time because energy is the industry most ripe for change in the coming decades. Huge opportunities in the market have presented themselves and many more will come.”
