DWP travels waterways throughout Alaska to service some of the most remote communities in the state. The company safely navigates unique and challenging river and weather conditions. It is a lifeline to these locations, delivering a whole year’s supply of heating fuel, power generation fuel, unleaded gasoline, and lubricants. Lubricants are also distributed throughout the state from our distribution facilities, freight barge, and trucks on the Railbelt highway system. This temporary position is responsible for providing manual labor during the summer seasonal operations.
- Participates in safety meetings and reports all injuries, spills and property damage. Identifies and communicates job hazards.
- Cleans as directed which includes sweeping, washing, stocking, and moving heavy tanks and drums.
- Performs yard and tank maintenance including mowing and weeding
- Stock inventory and supplies
- Paints buildings and facilities
- Assist site manager with other projects

Education and experience: Must be over 18 in order to operate power tools and equipment. Prefer previous work experience.
Certificates: Alaska Driver license preferred
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. Employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach. The employee is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color and depth vision.
Work Environment: The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles. The noise in the work environment is generally loud.
