The Service Desk Technician Intern works as part of the Information Technology Services department to assist in providing support for service desk operations. They also work directly with end-users or as part of the Service Desk group to help define requirements for new or enhanced information systems. Also supports projects and operations conducted by members of the Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as part of our information systems department as a direct liaison between end-users and ITS support teams.
Performs queue monitoring, processing, follow-up as needed, and escalations for tickets coming into our ITSM (Information Technology Service Management) solution.
Assists with deployment of new equipment.
Assists with software installations and removals.
Performs inventory and compliance checks on deployed equipment.
Performs troubleshooting and remediation of incidents.
Assists in printer and other peripheral equipment support needs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Actively in pursuit of an associates degree in computer technology or related field.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability to work at least 2 days each week for a minimum of 4 hours per day.
Knowledge of using Windows computers in an active directory domain.
Skilled at using Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision.
Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
Must take direction well and be motivated self-starters.
Must be open and excited to learn new technologies.
Customer service oriented and willing to learn new techniques to best serve stakeholders.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
