Responsibilities:

Management responsibilities

Ensure Company compliance with employment legislation and ensure HR policies and procedures are current and communicated broadly.

Oversee 401(k) program compliance at NorthStar energy, renew annual health and welfare benefits in coordination with broker and sister companies.

Update compensation program, including job descriptions, annual salary planning and budgets and evaluate program effectiveness.

Develop staffing strategies including job advertisements, assessments, interviewing, checking references and pre-employment processes.

Ensure regulatory reporting is completed including the Affirmative Action Plan, EEO1, Vets 100, Driver Qualification files, and board reports.

Coordinate FMLA leave of absences and ADA accommodation requests.

Coordinate workers compensations claims including contacts with appropriate regulatory industries and ensure safe return to duty

Manage the company Training Plan, Learning Management System, Ethics, and other related training.

Guide management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues. Assist managers in disciplinary matters or employee recognitions.

Serve as Labor Relations advisor, coordinating renewal of Collective Bargaining agreements and grievance responses.

Prepare and consolidate management and metric reports.

Qualifications:

10+ years HR leadership experience in an environment that requires both strategic and hands-on expertise. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; SPHR, MBA or related preferred.

Broad and deep experience in all functional areas of HR, including employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compensation, benefits, leader development, regulatory and wage and hour compliance, employee communications and management coaching.

Experience working in a union environment desired with knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements, record of resolving union and management issues and handling grievance meetings in conjunction with labor counsel.

Strong skills in HR systems, HR process implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Outstanding business acumen skills including critical thinking and decision making.

Excellent communication skills, with an ability to partner with people at all levels, demonstrating integrity and credibility.

Experience in dynamic, growing organizations using resourcefulness in setting priorities and delivering results through people and systems.

Preference for using data driven HR business analytics and insights to provide HR recommendations.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a solid ability to communicate well with all levels and personalities and deliver presentations to large and small groups.

Highly collaborative and effective at building partnerships.
