This position is responsible for assisting the company in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial information. This role may be asked to act in a lead role with the General Accounting team.



Performs general accounting functions including the following:

  • Participate in and prepare a variety of closing journal entries for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
  • Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and execute various accounting transactions (e.g. journal entries, inventory, etc.).
  • Maintain inventory and fixed assets in the ERP system.
  • Prepare financial and ad-hoc reports, as needed.
  • Prepare year-end audit schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of year-end tax schedules.
  • Assist with preparation of various state and local tax reports which could include sales and use, property, Hawaii GET, and unclaimed property.
  • Provide accounting guidance to management and staff, as requested.
  • Participate in and assist with ad-hoc projects, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 3+ years related accounting experience.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a CPA or CMA certificate is desirable.



  • Knowledge of corporate accounting processes.
  • Excellent accounting skills including knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Financial Accounting Standards and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Knowledge or experience with SAP preferred.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management and staff throughout the organization.
  • Proven ability to apply analytical skills to problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
  • Ability to mentor/train staff.
  • Ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).


Positions at this level have moderate decision-making authority. Actions taken by this position can impact financial reporting and require the application and interpretation of data, facts, situations, procedures and policy.


Positions at this level have a high level of contact with management and staff throughout the organization.  This position is expected to solve problems within policy guidelines while communicating with management within the division.


Positions at this level will encounter varying degrees of stress throughout the month as the financial records are closed and analyzed.


Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.


Most work requires normal physical effort.


Requires use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.
