TOTE is looking for…

A detail-oriented, inquisitive, and analytical person that can be an outside-the-box problem solver with exceptional communication skills. The Payroll Analyst is responsible for accurate and timely administration of multi-state payroll and benefits for multiple companies.

You Will

  • Be responsible for preparing timely and accurate bi-weekly and weekly payroll for multiple companies
  • Respond to internal and external requests for payroll information as appropriate
  • Balance and control earnings and deduction totals, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions
  • Submit payment requests to Accounts Payable for payroll related disbursements, such as HSA and 401k
  • Calculate and prepare all payroll-related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
  • Act as liaison between TOTE and local unions regarding payroll and associated benefits.
  • Work closely with Sr. Payroll Analyst to respond to internal and external audit requests
  • Participate in full cross-training and process documentation
  • Continuously improve processes for accuracy, cost control, and risk mitigation

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors’ degree is preferred (in related payroll field) and/or payroll certification
  • Five Years relevant payroll experience
  • Two years relevant union experience
  • Experience with Ultimate Software, (now UKG or other payroll processing system)
  • Experience with Kronos timekeeping a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Must have a high degree of accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication customer service skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Excellent math and accounting skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to work under pressure maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
