TOTE Maritime Alaska

TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Terminal Operations Supervisor for our Anchorage office to join our team.

The Terminal Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the gatehouse vehicle and maintenance departments, as well as providing back up management support to other departments in the group. This position’s normal work schedule is Sunday through Thursday.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Daily supervision of Anchorage Gatehouse, Vehicles and Maintenance Departments.
  • Responsible for gate, vehicle and yard operations, assisting with terminal and equipment maintenance, budget reporting and vessel operations.
  • All supervisory responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
  • Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues that arise.
  • Addresses and resolves customer complaints.
  • Provide backup management support to other departments in the group.
  • Lead role on project moves, as assigned.
  • Assist in ship day preparations

Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree - preferred
  • Minimum of five years in Transportation/Sales/project management role in a complex business environment – preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good math skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
