NAC’s fleet of B737s provide schedule service between Anchorage and 13 Alaska communities and charter service throughout North America (both on-demand and ACMI). While the B767 fleet operates out of Miami in support of sister company StratAir and out of Honolulu in support of sister company Aloha Air Cargo.

This is a hands-on manager position performing work across disciplines, including communicating policy, developing human resources procedures, and overseeing functions such as recruiting, onboarding, compensation, employee/labor relations, benefits, and training.

Oversees busy recruiting function, including developing sourcing pipelines, developing growth plans, senior level recruiting, pilot hiring, interviewing, hiring and on-boarding of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.  Supervises one recruiting position.

Integrate new employees in a simple and efficient onboarding system, continually evaluating compliance obligations, process and retention of new hires.

Develop and modernize human resource data systems and maintain centralized personnel records by ensuring coordination of systems and processes to ensure flow of information from recruiting, onboarding, and off boarding to the HRIS and payroll.

Conduct exit interviews with departing employees; evaluate and communicate findings with HR and functional leaders, analyze trends and make retention recommendations.

Manages the compensation module in the HRIS which includes helping set salary ranges for open positions, benchmarking data, building competitive benefits packages to attract quality employees, pay adjustments for promotions and accomplishments, and performance incentives such as bonuses and commissions.

Ensures new hires benefit training and enrollments, audit benefit enrollments monthly, supervises annual benefit open enrollment process.

May assist with employee relations including investigating complaints, grievances, and coaching managers in an effort to create and maintain a positive working relationship for employees at Northern Air Cargo.

Trains employees and managers including HRIS self-serve, interview training, and other employment related training as required.

1. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have cross-disciplinary human resources experience including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits and performance management.

2. Recruiting in the aviation industry strongly preferred.

3. Labor Relations experience strongly preferred

4. Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field required. Extensive related work experience may be substituted.

5. A human resources certification (i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred.

6. Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills are required.

7. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

8. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, facilitation, and communication skills

9. Strong proficiency with Ultipro including reporting functionality or ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and Talent Management systems.


Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.


Most work requires normal physical effort.


Requires use of personal computer (word processing and spreadsheets) for compiling reports, statistical data, composing memoranda and other similar documents.
