Northern Air Cargo

The Ground School Instructor will ensure all Flight Crew training is conducted in a safe, efficient, economical manner and in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations by performing the following duties:


• Promote safety, efficiency, adherence to departmental and company policies and government regulations and the professionalism of the Flight Crews through training standardization.

• Conduct all training as required to maintain the currency of all Flight Crewmembers, and other Flight Operations personnel.

• Assist in the creation of training programs as required.

• Maintain currency on regulations, departmental and company policies, and methods of training.

• Perform audit functions as required.

• Accurate and timely completion of training records.

• Perform Flight Crew Reviews.

• Maintain all company manuals assigned to the Training Department, as required.

• Confidentiality is required.

• Regular attendance is required.

• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Turbo Jet 121 line experience required on airplanes with a gross weight greater than 115,000 lbs

• 2 years as a part 121 ground training instructor preferred

• Previous experience in the operation of flight simulators and/or flight training devices preferred

• Excellent knowledge of FAR’s required

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from crew members, management, subordinates, and outside agencies

• Word Processing and computer knowledgeable.  Must have proven organizational skills.

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
