TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inland Transportation Specialist at our Federal Way Corporate office.

Job Overview

This role contributes to the success of TOTE Maritime Alaska as an integral part of the team in providing excellent customer service and the successful operation of transportation in the L48, by maintaining pools, coordinating transportation with the terminal and other departments within TOTE, as well as handling cost and benchmarking carrier performance.  If you are an innovative thinker that can optimize processes to better serve clients, we are looking for you.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Maintain cost in back office system(s)
Verification of cost code allocation
Assists in accessorial charge issues with vendor
Validate invoices related to inland movements
Vendor communication
Scheduling equipment (TOTE owned and leased) to meet customer demands and needs
Tracking and tracing of TOTE equipment
Resolve customer and vendor issues
Provide customer service to internal and external customers
Coordinate with other departments on equipment needs
Develop an understanding of customer business models and processes
Build positive, collaborative relationships through open and interactive communication
Provide support throughout the department
Perform accurate and efficient data entry
Run and audit various reports for customers and internal use
Frequently attend on-site educational classes to improve knowledge and performance levels

Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent
You have excellent math and organizational skills
Strong Excel skills are required for this position
You should be team oriented and provide support to the department
You often anticipate and understand customer needs
You can easily multi-task and prioritize
You have the focus and drive to work with little or no supervision
Ability to work flexible hours – Some evenings or weekends, as required
Computer-literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and E-service center & E-commerce web-based applications
