TOTE Maritime Alaska

TOTE Maritime Alaska, the leader in safe and reliable service to Alaska, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Inland Payable Specialist for our Federal Way team.

The Inland Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting a successful operation of timely and accurate payments are made to our Inland carriers. You will be responsible for updating, entering and auditing rates from our transportation carriers.

The individual in the role contributes to the success of TOTE Maritime Alaska as an integral part of the team in providing excellent customer service and the successful operation of transportation in the L48, managing cost and benchmarking carrier performance.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Maintain costs in back office system(s).
  • Validate invoices related to inland movements.
  • Assists in accessorial charge issues with vendor.
  • Produces and analyzes data for both internal and external clients.
  • Review purchase order costs for accuracy and manage costs.
  • Verification of cost code allocation.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Correspond with vendor relating to invoice/payment related issues.
  • Work interactively within a Team to maximize overall performance.
  • Responsible for process refinement and enhancement

Key Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Four years’ experience in the transportation industry

Other Essential Abilities and Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good math skills.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
