What will you do?

The Inland & Marketing Analyst is responsible for supporting a successful operation of timely and accurate payments that are made to our Inland carriers. You would be responsible for updating, entering, and auditing rates from our transportation carriers. Additionally, the position will assist in an analyst role across the Marketing, Pricing and Operations departments to provide forecast and market tracking data relative to Inland and adjoining departments. This role contributes to the success of TOTE Maritime Alaska as an integral part of the team in providing excellent customer service and the successful operation of transportation in the L48, managing cost and benchmarking carrier performance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain our back-office system(s)
  • Validation of invoices related to inland movement and assist in accessorial charge issues
  • Produce and analyze data for both internal and external clients
  • Verification of cost code allocation
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Correspond with vendors relating to invoice/payment related issues
  • Work interactively within the Team to maximize overall performance
  • Responsible for process refinement and enhancement
  • Forecast volumes, track rates, and analyze market trends
  • Understand internal reporting processes and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Assist in implementation of new tools to improve reporting efficiency
  • CargoWise development and reporting

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors’ degree is required with 1-3 years of transportation experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good math skills.
  • Computer literate, with the ability to utilize standard software applications and be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
