Maintains and repairs motorized equipment and chassis
Coordinates and performs basic preventative maintenance on all equipment and handles any existing problems.
Troubleshoots electrical and hydraulic systems on all equipment. Ensures all machines are serviceable.
Coordinates and performs major and minor repairs on engines and transmissions and reports recurring problems to supervisor.
Makes quality fabrications as needed.
Makes service calls to warehouse.
Keeps work area including tools and equipment clean. Maintains an organized inventory area.
Remains on standby duty whenever a ship is loaded after hours and on weekends on a rotation basis.
Participates in training sessions and technical oriented workshops.
Continually supports the Quality Improvement Process in our company.
Assigns daily workload to employees.
Performs all other assigned duties.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Three years experience in heavy equipment maintenance or a related field.
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver's Licence
TRAVEL: This position is based in Nassau and will support Marsh Harbor.
PHYSICAL: Operations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis. Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions.
MUST HAVE VALID WORK AUTHORIZATION FOR THE BAHAMAS.
