Responsible for the long-term strategic goals of all US Shore Maintenance areas including, Refrigeration, Automotive Maintenance, Container/Chassis Maintenance, Port Maintenance and Outport Maintenance. Develop policies and procedures to ensure all operations function in accordance with established standards. Evaluate, develop and implement cost-savings strategies and collaborative methods for all Corporate Maintenance departments.

Responsible for the strategic direction and collaborative efforts of maintenance operations and approves activities to increase departmental productivity, cross departmental functionality and achieve cost and productivity goals. Ensures that all areas have current processes and procedures in place which are consistent with company goals and direction.

Establishes standards for management staff. Oversees that management teams are developing personnel through coaching, training classes, work groups and on-the-job training. Reviews performance evaluations and recommendations of management teams in salary, job status and duties. Responsible for reviewing staff performance management and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with company policy.

Oversees the development and implementation of processes to ensure efficient operations and production. Communicates with appropriate parties to determine customer satisfaction levels. Formulates strategies with management teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

Performs general management functions, review and approves budgeting, scheduling, personnel actions and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures. Forecasts trends and job requirements for financial planning processes. Communicates with Senior Managers, utilization of physical and personnel resources.

Ensures that compliance with all safety and security procedures for employees, cargo, and facilities are addressed by corresponding management teams. Oversees security and safety issues affecting the work environments. Assures that management teams are establishing and implementing safe cargo handling procedures to reduce claims filed.

Conducts departmental/management meetings on a regular basis ensuring communication of company requirements and processes to all personnel.

Responsible for ensuring managers compliance with the submission of reports.

Performs all other related duties as requested.



EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field
EXPERIENCE: 7 years experience in managing Freight Equipment Maintenance facilities.
LICENSE: Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport
TRAVEL: 10% Travel to other Tropical Shipping locations
PHYSICAL: Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 8 hours per day. Mobility required to oversee operations activities and to perform inspection duties. Ability to frequently twist, bend, read, squat, kneel and climb heights up to 15 feet, occasionally must lift and carry up to 80 lbs. Able to withstand occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc.)
