Direct responsibility for the management of all warehouse operational activities for the NVOCC, Tropical Miami and Tropical West Palm Beach LCL warehouses. Key manager responsible for the development and approval of cost containment and productivity improvement measures associated with the operations. Responsible for the resolution of customer issues and service failures. Oversees the selection, growth and development of management teams. Responsible for the coordination of warehouse activities with traffic functions to ensure superior experience delivery to the customer and maximum process efficiency, cost, and productivity. Responsible for ensuring the security and compliance with all health and safety regulations within the facility. Establishes departmental policies and procedures.

Oversees all operational activities for warehouse and ensures management teams are in compliance with goals.

Establishes standards for management staff. Oversees that management teams are developing personnel through coaching, training classes, work groups and on-the-job training. Reviews performance evaluations and recommendations of management teams in salary, job status and duties. Responsible for reviewing staff performance management and disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with company policy.

Oversees the development and implementation of processes to ensure efficient operations and production. Communicates with appropriate parties to determine customer satisfaction levels. Formulates strategies with management teams to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

Reviews and approves budgeting, scheduling, personnel actions and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures. Forecasts trends and job requirements for financial planning processes. Communicates with Senior Managers regarding utilization of physical and personnel resources.

Ensures that compliance with all safety and security procedures for employees, cargo, and facilities are addressed by corresponding management teams. Oversees security and safety issues affecting the work environments. Assures that management teams are establishing and implementing safe cargo handling procedures to reduce damages and cargo claims.

Conducts management meetings on a regular basis ensuring communication of company information, requirements and processes to all personnel.

Determines strategic direction of cargo handling operations and approves activities to increase customer satisfaction, and achieve cost and productivity goals. Ensures that all areas have current processes and procedures in place which are consistent with company goals and direction.

Directs overall NVOCC, Tropical Miami and Tropical West Palm LCL Operations by expediting internal departmental functions, including liaison with operating units such as dispatch, national pick-up, intermodal, stevedoring, equipment management and warehousing.

Responsible for ensuring managers compliance with the submission of reports.

Performs all related duties as requested.


Bachelors Degree in Transportation or Business Administration.
Seven years experience in containerized shipping transportation or in a related field.
Valid Local Driver's License and Valid Passport
10% Travel to other Tropical locations.
Office Environment - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files. Ability to reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files. ability to sit 1/3 - 2/3 of day. Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc..) Occasionally exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.
