Northern Air Cargo

The Crew Resources Department has a symbiotic responsibility with all Flight Operations stakeholders and have a high level of responsibility for operational continuity.  This position is responsible for maintaining crew scheduler and pilot schedules in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration and Company requirements.  This position serves as an initial point of contact between the SOCC and Crew Scheduling, as well as oversee daily Crew Scheduling operations.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule and maintain all flight crew travel/hotel arrangements, and distribute information to the affected crew members as well as other applicable personnel.  Communicate with pilots regarding questions, changes, etc.

Monitors Trip Pairings and crew schedules for FAA and Company/Contract compliance.

Serves as the point person to lead the shift and focus on the operation to maintain operational excellence.

Supervises and assigns daily work tasks to the crew scheduling team, and ensures tasks and daily checklists are completed in a timely manner.

Provides Recurrent and Initial New Hire Training to Crew Schedulers.

Performs audits as necessary.

Assists Crew Schedulers and works with Duty Managers to prepare for, and recover from, irregular operations; proactively reassigning/recrewing for operational integrity, maintain FAR and contract compliance of crew member schedules.

Oversees daily crewing to ensure maximum utilization and coordinate with Duty Managers to protect the integrity of the schedules.

Assists Management in maintaining department staffing needs, schedules, absences, and overtime.

Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Collaborate effectively across units in Flight Operations and related work groups.  Communicate issues that may impact efficient operations to the Director of Crew Resources.

Track tasks for department employees to ensure smooth overall operation.

Code and process all departmental expense statements, company credit card statements, etc. in accordance with the yearly budget and Company accounting practices.

Compile reports, draft and maintain departmental procedures or processes as required and distribute as appropriate.

Pay close attention to crew costs in regards to schedule changes, requests, etc. and provide cost analysis when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Need at least 18 months office experience performing complex, detailed administrative tasks of similar scope to what is described above.
  • At least one year Crew Scheduling Experience with FAA Part 121required.
  • Required to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check and TSA security threat assessment.
  • Prior BlueOne experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior travel coordination experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to format and compose business correspondence with good spelling/grammar.
  • Fast and highly accurate data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative and accomplish tasks without direct supervision.
  • Ability to confidently interact with various levels of management and staff throughout the organization.
  • Must be a team player.

 JUDGEMENT

  • This position has a high-level of contact with pilots, outside vendors and managers/staff throughout the organization.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as government regulations, collective bargaining agreements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.  Must be able to work a varies schedule including nights, weekends, or holidays when necessary.
