Responsible for coordinating all aspects of vessel arrival and departure with the captain and port officials. Receives the ETA of vessel arrival and advises the Master regarding berthing and boarding arrangements.

Responsibilities:

Receives E.T.A. from Master as ship arrives in port. Advises Immigration, Customs, and Maritime Services of vessel arrival time.

Does initial boarding of vessel. If vessel is not berthing, arranges a launch to board vessel at anchorage with Immigration, Customs and Agent. Supply vessel with local entry forms, and Immigration and Customs forms for next trip.

Prepares and delivers cash advance to the Master. Coordinates reimbursement for crew medical/dental treatment, crew changes, arrange ship chandler, repairs, laundry, posting mail and sending faxes or emails for the crew. Collect cash returns from Master on sailing and issues receipt.

Inform charters and agent at next port of vessel arrival and estimated time of departure. Confirm with charterer and agent, actual sailing time and ETA at next port and any information from Master for next port of call.

Prepare a statement of owners matters performed by agency and obtain master signature and ship's stamp on same to avoid any disputes in receiving payment for performing/carrying out owners matter.

Assists crew with any miscellaneous needs or requests such as Consulates or Embassy visits, hospital or doctors visits, dentist, repair shops, police and airlines.

Sign on and off crew members for repatriation, handles stowaway matters, ship's spare parts, coordinates radio repairs, set up surveyors and inspections.

Perform all other related duties as requested.

 

Requirements:

MUST HAVE VALID WORK AUTHORIZATION FOR TRINIDAD

 

 

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent
 

EXPERIENCE:

6 months experience in shipping operations or port operations.
 

LICENSE:

Valid Local Driver's License. Boarding Clerk License.

PHYSICAL:

Operations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds on a daily basis. Able to withstand constant exposure to extreme weather conditions.
