The Jankovich Company

We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our leadership team. The individual chosen for this position will be responsible for providing support and oversight of day-to-day accounting functions. Key responsibilities will include general accounting, reporting and other financial functions.

You are a problem-solver, an expert in Excel and are more than comfortable using and evaluating accounting software.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Month-end and year-end closing, including preparation of journal entries, monthly accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Preparation of financial statements
  • Financial statement, tax, internal control, and compliance audits
  • Analysis of inventory and cost variances
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset subledger and preparation of related real and personal property tax returns
  • Daily treasury management, including cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Managing all aspects of the general ledger, chart of accounts, and document retention
  • Maintaining best practice internal controls, accounting operations, and procedures
  • Preparation of various ad hoc reports
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, agency rules and regulations, and GAAP
  • Implementation of IT systems to support and streamline the accounting process

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting manager and/or Assistant Controller role
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of GAAP
  • Experience implementing process improvements within ERPs (Plus, not required)
  • Regulatory and tax reporting experience
  • CPA a plus, but not required
