The Aircraft Inspector is responsible for the overall inspection of AAC aircraft/equipment in connection with checks, repairs, overhauls, and ensures aircraft airworthiness per AAC and FAA standards.

  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), AAC and Manufacture manuals.
  • Perform inspections, as required, on all scheduled aircraft maintenance checks, and aircraft modifications to ensure:
    • Compliance with procedures as specified in the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
    • The approved equipment and materials are being utilized.
    • There is a high standard of workmanship that is being attained.
  • Responsible to maintain qualifications (RII/ARA) as required by AAC policy.
  • Responsible to maintain qualifications in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Engine Borescope
  • Maintain currency to access Aircraft Operational Areas (AOA).
  • Responsible to abide by the duty compliance time as stated in FAR 121.377.
  • Perform inspection of materials, parts, and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping, environmental compliance, and safety.
  • Responsible for shift turnovers.
  • In addition to routine inspection duties an inspector will be required to perform other duties as required by the Manager – Quality Control.
  • Ensures adequate levels of training and qualifications are provided to Inspectors to enable work to the highest standard.
  • Manages the training and qualification of inspectors for specialized inspection techniques (Borescope, Non-destructive Inspection etc.)
  • Provide technology assessment for work requirements.
  • Collaborates with maintenance managers and supervisors to support operational and business initiatives.
  • Responsible for coordination with approved vendors for training delivery and its documentation.
  • Ensures the intent of 14 CFR 121.375, which requires each person who performs maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, repair, and overhaul to Aloha Air Cargo’s aircraft and equipment are fully informed on applicable procedures, techniques, equipment in use and are competent to perform assigned duties.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possess a valid FAA Airman Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings and a current Taxi and Run-up Authorization, Hawaii Drivers’ License, DOT ramp license and other authorizations as necessary.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, inspection techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Must have 2 years previous aircraft maintenance experience
  • Must possess sufficient experience and/or training to perform duties
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs. frequently and up to 70lbs. as needed
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check and security threat assessment.
