Stanley H. Barer
Chairman Emeritus, has an extensive career in public service,
including Administrative Assistant to U.S. Senator W. G. Magnuson
and a variety of positions with the U.S. Senate Committee on
Commerce. A graduate of the University of Washington School of Law,
he negotiated the establishment of reciprocal flag shipping services
between the U.S. and the People's Republic of China. He has been the
recipient of numerous awards, including the Admiral of the Ocean Sea,
the maritime industry's most prestigious recognition. Member,
Executive Committee.
John W. (Jack) Creighton, Jr.
Former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of United Airlines
Corporation, former President & Chief Executive Officer of
Weyerhaeuser Company, holds degrees in business and law from Ohio
State University, as well as a master's degree in business
administration from the University of Miami. He is active in a
number of non-profit and charitable organizations, including the
Boy Scouts of America. Member, Compensation Committee.
Michael D. Garvey
Holds degrees in mathematics and law from the University of Washington.
He is a founding partner of Garvey, Schubert & Barer, a multi-service law
firm with offices in Seattle, WA, Washington, D. C., Portland, Oregon and
New York. He has served on numerous boards, including Ste. Michelle
Vintners, K-2 Ski Company, the Commerce Bank of Washington and the UK P&I
Club. In addition, his public service includes the Foundation Board of the
University of Washington, Zion Preparatory Academy Foundation and
PeaceHealth.
Frederick M. Goldberg
Graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in business
administration. He has extensive experience in the banking industry and as
an owner/operator of small businesses. He contributes to numerous public
and charitable organizations, including board membership on the Civil
Service Commission, Key Bank, St. Peters Health Foundation and Panorama
City. Member, Executive Committee; Chairman, Audit Committee.
Robert P. Hauptfuhrer
Served as Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the board of directors of
Oryx Energy Company 1988 to 1994 -- Sun Exploration and Production Company
separated from Sun Company, Inc. He was President and Chief Operating
Officer of Sun Company since January 1987. Valedictorian of his class at
the William Penn Charter School, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
public affairs from Princeton University where he was Phi Beta Kappa. He
holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard as a Baker
Scholar. Past and present memberships on boards of directors: American
Petroleum Institute, Independent Petroleum Association of America, Natural
Gas Supply Association, Quaker Chemical Corporation, American Productivity
Center, National Association of Manufacturers and the United Way of
Metropolitan Dallas. He also served as a member of the board of trustees of
Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania's Cancer Center.
James Jiambalvo
Dean of the University of Washington Business School and Kirby L. Cramer
Chair in Business Administration, joined the accounting faculty at the
University of Washington after receiving a Ph.D. in accounting from the Ohio
State University. A CPA, he has audit experience with the firm of Haskins
and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche), and has served on the national academic
advisory board of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Dean Jiambalvo’s research has been
published in the top accounting journals including The Accounting Review,
Contemporary Accounting Research, the Journal of Accounting and Economics,
and the Journal of Accounting Research. He is a past associate editor of
The Accounting Review and has served on the editorial boards of The
Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, and the Journal of
Management Accounting Research. He is also the author of the textbook
Managerial Accounting (Second Edition), published by John Wiley and Sons.

John V. Rindlaub
CEO for the Pacific Northwest Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group.
He is the former Northwest President of Bank of America
and Chairman of Bank of America Asia. He holds a bachelor's degree in
economics from Bucknell University of Pennsylvania. He also serves as a
director of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, as director and
treasurer of the National Bureau of Asian Research, on the advisory
board of the University of Washington Business School, and is a member
of the Washington State University (WSU) Foundation Board of Trustees
and the WSU Business School advisory board, and director and past
president of Washington Roundtable. Rindlaub also previously served as
a director for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, as director
and chairman of the Pacific Science Center, and director and chairman of
the Children's Hospital Foundation.
Mark N. Tabbutt, Chairman
Mark N. Tabbutt, Chairman of Saltchuk, holds a degree in Political Science
from Whitman College; a degree in law from the University of Puget Sound
School of Law and completed the Owner-President Managed Program, unit #32, of
the Harvard Business School's Executive Education program. He is a member of
the Northwest Chapter of the Young President's Organization and is a member
of Board of Directors of the Greater Seattle YMCA.
Everett W. Trout
A Principal of the Company, began his association with the Company's
subsidiary, Totem Ocean Trailer Express (TOTE) in 1976 while working as a
consultant to Sun Shipbuilding. In 1979 he became Vice President/Operations
of TOTE. He is a graduate of UCLA with a bachelor's degree in
transportation and has more than 17 years experience in the trucking
transportation industry. He serves on the board of Odyssey, the Maritime
Museum.
