Stanley H. Barer
Chairman Emeritus and founding Saltchuk shareholder. Stan has an extensive career in public service, including Administrative Assistant to U.S. Senator W. G. Magnuson and a variety of positions with the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce. A graduate of the University of Washington School of Law, he negotiated the establishment of reciprocal flag shipping services between the U.S. and the People's Republic of China. He has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Admiral of the Ocean Sea, the maritime industry's most prestigious recognition.
Timothy B. Engle
President of Saltchuk and holds a degree in Communication Studies from Seattle University and an MBA from the University of Washington. Tim is active in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound as both a Big Brother and a member of the Board of Directors. He also serves of the Board of Pacific Wealth Advisors.
Robert Felton
Director Emeritus of McKinsey & Company, Inc. In his 31 years with McKinsey, he worked in Cleveland, Los Angeles, Seoul, South Korea and Seattle. His client work focused on strategy, operations and governance, primarily with heavy industrial companies. Prior to McKinsey, he worked for General Electric Company. Since retiring from McKinsey, he has invested in a number of small companies and sits on the boards of 5 private companies. In addition, he is the President and Chair of the Board of Governors of the Washington State University Foundation. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University and an MBA from Harvard University.
Frederick M. Goldberg
Graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in business administration. Fred is one of the founding Saltchuk shareholders, he has extensive experience in the banking industry and as an owner/operator of small businesses. Currently on the Board of Columbia Bank and retired from the board of Key Bank. He contributes to numerous public and charitable organizations, including board membership on the Civil Service Commission, St. Peters Health Foundation and Panorama Corp. Member, Chairman, Audit Committee.
James Jiambalvo
Dean of the University of Washington Business School and Kirby L. Cramer Chair in Business Administration, joined the accounting faculty at the University of Washington after receiving a Ph.D. in accounting from The Ohio State University. A CPA, he has audit experience with the firm of Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche), and has served on the national academic advisory board of Deloitte & Touche LLP. Dean Jiambalvo’s research has been published in the top accounting journals and he is a past associate editor of The Accounting Review. He is also the author of the textbook Managerial Accounting (Fourth Edition), published by John Wiley and Sons. Member, Audit Committee
Stein Kruse
Native of Oslo, Norway, is Chief Executive Officer of Holland America Line, a unit of the publicly traded Carnival Corporation & plc. Prior to joining Holland America Line in 1999 Stein was Chief Financial Officer for North America for the global Japanese shipping company Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. Stein serves on the Board of the United States Coast Guard Foundation, Cruise Lines International Association, the International Advisory Board for the City of Rotterdam and the World Trade Center, Seattle. Member of Saltchuk Governance & Nominating Committee.
John V. Rindlaub
CEO for the Pacific Northwest Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Group. He is the former Northwest President of Bank of America and Chairman of Bank of America Asia. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Bucknell University. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy for three years. He serves as a director of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, on the advisory boards of the University of Washington Business School and the Washington State University Business School. He is also chairman of the National Bureau of Asian Research. Rindlaub previously served as a director for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
Mark N. Tabbutt
Chairman of Saltchuk, holds a degree in Political Science from Whitman College; a degree in law from the University of Puget Sound School of Law; is a member of the Washington State Bar Association; and completed the Owner-President Managed Program, unit #32, of the Harvard Business School's Executive Education program. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Seattle YMCA.
Eugene Voiland
Retired President and CEO of Aera Energy LLC. He is now Chairman of Valley Republic Bank in Bakersfield, California and a petroleum industry consultant who works both in the US and internationally. He has over 40 years of experience in most aspects of the petroleum business. Gene is very active in nonprofit and business organizations in California. He earned a BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University. Member of Saltchuk Compensation Committee.
